M.Sc. Scientific Computing
As a student in a thesis-based program, I spend part of my time taking courses and the rest doing research. The courses I have taken and audited include, numerical methods for ODE's, numerical methods for time-dependent PDE's, data analysis using Bayesian statistics, computer-based research tools and methods, software engineering, numerical optimization, and principles of scientific computing. The software I developed for this degree is called IceDEF and it focuses on ingesting iceberg and metocean data, running numerical simulations, and producing visualizations.
